- Golden Gate Trust Services, PC was founded and is operated by Mike Coleman, a business law attorney with more than 30 years of legal experience. Mike has been a licensed, bondable Professional Fiduciary in the State of California since 2023 (license #1399). He is a member of the Professional Fiduciary Association of California and a graduate of California State University’s Professional Fiduciary Management program. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Law and has been a licensed attorney in the State of California since 1997 (CA Bar #194518).
- Mike founded Golden Gate Trust Services to offer his services as a trusted and licensed professional to assist people managing trusts and conservatorships when they do not have a close family member or friend that is available to assist. Golden Gate Trust Services has been established to provide independent, competent, and reliable services in a variety of fiduciary capacities, including serving as a trustee, an executor in estate administration, a conservator, or an agent for advance health care directives.
- My goal is to provide peace of mind for my clients by building trusting relationships. Fiduciaries are held accountable to act in your best interests. I listen carefully without judgment to what you want so that I can help you achieve your goals while protecting yourself and those you love from unforeseen risks.
- Private professional fiduciaries may provide some or all of the following services:
- Estate Administration:
- • Help ensure that appropriate estate plans are in place
- • Act as an executor of a will
- • Help ensure that any estate plan is honored and modified when necessary
- Trust and Asset Management:
- • Arrange and monitor outside experts to assist with asset management;
- • Monitor your investment advisors to ensure that they are investing using appropriate investment standards and risk tolerances;
- • Ensure that all appropriate taxes are filed and estimated taxes are timely paid;
- • Make sure bills are paid timely;
- • Provide accountings of assets and liabilities at least annually; and
- • Monitor all financial circumstances and make appropriate adjustments to plans as and when needed.
- Personal Care and Planning:
- • Manage personal care needs to ensure that the standard of living and quality of life is maintained;
- • Develop care plans with an emphasis on keeping clients in their homes whenever possible;
- • Make sure appropriate safety measures are in place;
- • When housing needs change, assist in finding and securing appropriate care facilities;
- • Know each client’s medical issues and medications;
- • Watch for any changes that require additional assistance;
- • Protect from undue influence; and
- • Ensure social well-being is maintained so that emotional well-being is optimized.
